Hindu Temple 

A former industrial building transformed into a Hindu Temple  in Leicester

Planning permission was secured for the change of use, conversion and alteration of a former industrial building in Leicester into a Hindu Temple and community centre. The design includes features inspired by traditional temple architecture from northern India, creating a landmark building for the area.

The centre is primarily a place of worship, but it also provides space for education, health guidance, and traditional music, art and dance. Landmark planning are now involved in the wider regeneration master plan for the area.

£60m Educational Hub Approved for Nottingham College

This is a major project for Nottingham’s economy and involves a complex mix of issues, with heritage considerations at its heart. Consent was delivered on budget and to a tight timetable.

Permission secured for a major mixed-use scheme on a challenging inner Nottingham site

A hybrid planning application secured permission for an 8-storey mixed-use scheme comprising 310 flats and 11,000 sq ft of commercial floorspace. Working alongside Hodder & Partners (Stirling Prize winners), consent was achieved for this challenging sloping site on Alfreton Road in inner Nottingham.

KFC outlet approved by committee in Leicester, overturning the officer recommendation.

Planning permission was secured at planning committee for a KFC restaurant on a former derelict employment site in Leicester. The scheme faced significant opposition, including arguments that another site was sequentially preferable, but the planning case presented at committee persuaded members to overturn the officer recommendation and approve the development.

Science and Technology Park 

Phase 1 permission secured for a long-planned Science and Technology Park scheme

Planning permission was secured for the first phase of a planned Science and Technology Park, following a long period of work to bring the project forward. The approved proposals included a supermarket to help fund the first phase of the park, along with a new pedestrian and cycle bridge across the River Soar.

Norwich Sustainable Urban Extension

Mixed-use urban extension promoted east of Norwich, with additional homes secured through the Action Plan process

Planning promotion work was carried out for land to the east of Norwich as a mixed-use sustainable urban extension, including 600 homes, a major business park, retail development and a new rail halt.

Following that approval, further success was achieved by securing 300+ additional homes on a nearby site within the Growth Triangle Area Action Plan area, even though the site was not originally allocated. This was agreed through the public inquiry process, and the scheme now also includes off-site open space to the north.

CECOS College 

Grade II listed building brought back into use with planning and Listed Building Consent

Planning permission and Listed Building Consent were secured to convert Grade II listed 30 Regent Street into an adult education college. The proposal helped bring a valuable 1930s Art Deco building, just off Leicester’s New Walk, back into viable use.
